Originally from the flatlands and big skies of rural Norfolk in eastern England, Jay Artale now lives in Bodrum Turkey. In between, she spent two decades in Los Angeles where she juggled her day job as a project manager with her passions for writing, photography and international travel. In 2008, Jay bought a holiday home on the trendy Bodrum Peninsula along Turkey's beautiful Aegean coast. Despite its popularity with Turkish and international visitors, and a destination of choice for thousands of expatriates looking for their place in the sun, well-researched and comprehensive guides to the Peninsula were thin on the ground. Jay decided to plug this gap and enthusiastically set about capturing the local area in words and pictures. In 2010, Jay launched the her BodrumPeninsulaTravelGuide.com website to share her knowledge and experiences with a wider audience. What began life as random facts and observations, hand-written in little note books, has grown into a well-respected and popular travel site. In 2012, Jay began publishing free location-specific Quick Reference Travel Guides for the area. A full-blown guide seemed to be the next logical step. 'The Bodrum Peninsula Travel Guide: Turkey's Aegean Gem' Guide was published on Kindle in May 31st 2013, shortly followed by 'The Gumusluk Travel Guide: Bodrum's Silver Lining', which in an in-depth look at the popular fishing village on the Bodrum Peninsula that attracts visitors from Turkey's major cities, and further afield. Not content to limit herself to writing Travel Guides, Jay has started to write How To guides for other travel writers to elevate their writing from one-dimensional to engaging. These writing guides will help travel bloggers and travel writers reach more readers and grow their social following. As well as stand-alone writing guides, Jay is writing a series about How To Write a Travel Guide. Jay has also started to publish poetry collections. Her first "Turkey Tales" is a Memoir in Verse, recounting her experiences about moving to Turkey. This is just the first in her poetry collections, and there are many more in the works.
